Bottle. My first brew from the new brewery on Chinden… just a 10 minute trip from my house and I still haven’t found time to visit yet. Pours a dark amber/chestnut brown color, great clarity, and a thin beige cap. The aroma of the beer is toasty, toffee, chocolate, and fruity sweet. Most of the same players in the taste, its more sweet than anything, very slight bitters. It does well while it’s cold, about halfway through the glass rubbing alcohol starts to come through. I wanted to like this more, and I did at first, but it ends up being lackluster.

Bottle from Albertsons. Trying to give this new brewery some props, as they’ve been a letdown to date. Decent looking pour, and then it just becomes a malt bomb. Minor hop bitterness at the end. Just plain average.

On tap at powderhaus brewing garden city. pours out a cloudy amber color topped with a small head. nose is grapefruit hops cardboard and caramel sweetness. Taste is more of the grapefruit bitterness and a odd ending.

On Tap at the brewery A modest snifter pour in for $5.50 Deep hazy redish amber. Not much of a head but nice hefty ring of lacing. Bug resinous and sweet caramel malt aromas. Double IPA or Barley Wine possibly. Flavors were much more mundane. Woody and husky with an odd toasted note. Some chemically flavors and a strange old dusty bitterness at the end. I like that the are going big on this with their rather limited tap selection early on. I’m hoping for better with later winter seasonals.
