Organic pale ale from Sweden. Medium, egg-white, slightly lacing and reasonably stable head, leaving a steady rim around the edges; pure and warm, clear ’old gold’ colour with low sparkling - this looks more like a pale lager than like a pale ale. Somewhat skunky aroma (lightstruck hops) so, even if this comes from a brown bottle, this must have been exposed to light for a long time; other impressions I get are toasted bread, sweaty and sourish grains, a suggestive hint of dried orange peel but not to the extent where it suggests to actually having been used, flour, weeds, cigarette tobacco, iron. Minerally onset, dryish, sourish grains as in a cheap pale lager, some subdued bready malt sweetness underlying this, very low fruitiness though a faint suggestion of dried fruits is there, lightly nutty, somewhat metallic, with grassy and leafy, ’low’ hop bitterness setting in rather quickly and leading to a drying, relatively long, bitter finish, not unlike an English bitter - or indeed pale ale; lightly honeyish and nutty malt sweetishness lingers as well. Lacks body and character in the malts department to be a credible pale ale, though. Quenching and acceptable alright, but I can’t help feeling I am actually tasting some more-than-averagely-hopped lager. Not too good for this style, not really bad in isolation of style. Bottle. Golden, low White head, restrained carbonation. Light hayish, slightly flowery. Lightbodied. Light grassy and earthy into nothingness.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Clear dark golden with a medium white head. Thin with citrus, malt, grass and some caramel. Also with notes of boiled vegetables. Boring.

Bottle. A clear, dark golden beer topped by a small, off-white head. The aroma is rather boring, lightly fruity and malty, with some citrus peel and pine cones. Cheesy hints and a meaty touch too. Nice bitterness in the flavor, besides that it’s the same quite boring blend found in the aroma. Citrus peel, pine cones and maltyness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Short, bitter finish with maltyness in the back. Rather boring this one. 140420

Pours clear golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, grass, floral and biscuit. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.
