Sampled at the source. Clear amber color, beige head. Aroma is malts, rauch, smoked ham. Flavor is malts, caramelised sugars, rauch, sweetish and lightly bitter notes at the same time. Decent. 6-4-6-3-12.

Swing top bottle. Orange brown color, cloudy. Coal aroma with a hint of smoke, also a cola flavor (with less sweetener) with a dash of smoke. Tastes good, but still disappoints somewhat because of the lack of flavor and smoke. Should be better from tap, probably. Another try: swing top bottle, bought at the brewery: Smoked ham and pineapple in the aroma. The smoke is less evident in the flavor. It is there, but the fruit character is just as strong. Thin to medium bodied, watery mouthfeel. Nice one! From tap: beechwood and smoked cheese. Tropical fruit (peach and pineapple). Hint of fruit yoghurt in the aftertaste.

De wereld heeft meer rauchbier nodig. En dan is dit meer niveau spezial, en nog geen klosterbrau of schlenkerla, maar dan nog

bottle from the brewery. Deep golden with a brown touch, off-white head, smoky nose. Medium-bodied, malty with a good amount of smoke and some aromatic earthy hops.

Bottled 500ml. -from Die Bierothek Bamberg. Amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, smokey nose. Sweet malty, caramel, light notes of smoke and light touch of wood with dry smokey finish. Not bad.

Sunday 9th Sep 2018. 500ml bottle; BB 6th Mar 2019. Obtained from Bierothek, Bamberg and drank in my holiday apartment. Cloudy light brown body, smooth beige blanket of foam on top, this lovely looking head soon turned into a wisp and collar, what a pity. Smoked ham like aroma and taste, not too smoked compared to some, but still has all the right attributes of a Rauchbier.

8 August 2018. Bottle from Bierothek, Bamberg. At Bluesun Hotel Kaj, Marija Bistrica. Bedroom tasting. Cheers to Anke!
Pours hazy brown with a lasting, small, frothy, beige head. Aroma of smoked ham & bacon, BBQ herbs, wood, lucifer, salty fudge, yeast, some peat & rubber. It tastes light malty sweet, a bit bready with smoky & 'meaty' accents, bitterish herbal back, dash of yeast. Dryish, smoky finish, lingering 'meatiness', bit herbal. Medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation ('Spa'-like effect). Decent Smoked, very drinkable and accessible, but rather thin.

Bottle, Smoked #100. Dark amber with off-white head. Aroma is smoked ham, caramel, sausage. Taste is lightly smoked ham, caramel, salty, earthy, sausage again. Mineralic finish, slightly chalky mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Nice, this is basically an inbetween mixture of Schlenkerla & Spezial with half the amount of inyourfaceness.

500ml bottle, thanks to djoeye for sharing. Next to clear dark amber body, beige head with firm retention. Fair lacing. Bacon on the nose. Smoked malty taste, ham and bacon, with fruity hints beneath. Restrained smoked ending. Medium bodied. Soft on the swallow. Nice and likable. (Rating session with Finn and djoeye, Pivoteka H7, Tromsø 25.09.2017).
