Bomber encased by a paper bag with info on it, wrapped with a string. Then, it is capped but with a cork and some sort of plastic widget inside. Very interesting. Also, the cork was soaking wet on the top side with beer....Anyway, pours a huge carbonated beige head with a reddish body. A big vinous and spicy nose. Hot cognac, whiskey, vanilla, heat, a big spicy bite. Smooth. Despite the huge carb the body isn't huge, on the thin side. Very nice. Christmasy indeed.

RBWG16. No doubt thanks goes to the uber generous Boise crew. Thanks Jermey and Toby. Cheers mates! The bottle pours out with a copper colored body that supports a tan head. The aroma offers up sweet malts, a bit of sweetened roasted malts and some residual sugar odors flowing into a modestly booziness at the end of the draw. The taste is smooth and sweet with malts and a growing residual sugar sensation. Amid the smooth sweetness are sweetened pine hops and then a bit of floral hops toward the finish. Pretty solid.

[1/30/16] Bottle sample at the Encomium bottle share, after RateBeer Best awards ceremony at Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel in Santa Rosa. Thanks everyone who shared bottles! Amber. Fruity, oxidation, caramel. Sweet, slightly boozy.

Bottle, thanks to... Rich or Toby? Either way muchas gracias me amigo. Color is brownish orange with a moderate beige cap. Sweet nose of citrus fruits and tropical fruit, some absinth. Taste is moderately malty, lightly bitter. More absinth. Interesting.

On tap at Boise pub. Pours out a muddy brownish topped with a ring of a head. Nose is very sweet lots of candy pit fruit almost like a Xmas fruit cake. Taste is more of the nose with lots of sweetness and pit fruit. I like the sweetness because I have a sweet tooth.

Sweet, sticky, too many things going on here that don’t quite mesh. Kitchen sink beer? But what a difference a year makes, aging brings out the complexities, sweetness mellowed out, smooth, sticky, fruity

On Tap a the Boise brewery. Murky redish amber with a thick lasting tan head. Lots of floral sharp spicy notes and some ripe pitted fruits. Sweet plum and a little holiday spice. Rather sharp scented candle notes at the end. Strange.
