Nice connection with the German name, as this is more of the Old World rye style, dark, sour and bready. Liquid pumpernickel, so to speak. Lots of savory caraway, etc.

On tap at the Boise NP Dark brown black with a fluffy tan head. Chocolate roasty malt aroma and a roasted slightly burnt flavor. Modestly hopped and smooth. Nice rich soft roasted flavors. Barely bittered enough. An easy dark beer. Clean finish
