Tasting at Matt's
Dark color, brown more than black. Cardboard and some chocolate, nuts, vanilla, toasted coconut. Too much alcohol. Good but chaotic.

2017 9% version. Bought at Brennans. Sweet, rich, pleasant Imperial Stout. The coconut is quite mild, soft enough that you probably wouldn't pick up on it blind. Nonetheless, it adds some depth. Sort of a straightforward example of the style. Sweet, syrupy. Light hop balance. Slight warming in the mouthfeel. Good.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of wood, medium smoke, a touch of cherry, and some cocoa. Flavour follows accordingly, with light cherry, medium roast, and moderate smoke. Not overly complex, but it's certainly nicely balanced and drinkable for what it is. Good stuff.

Dark brown, with a bubbly head. On the nose, there's some chocolate, with a touch of coconut. On the palate, it's got more of that chocolate - some nice impy fruitiness, and then it's a bit of alcohol harshness, I know there's some fudgey stuff, but it still ends up a bit rough and harsh. Coconut flavours back then really weren't what they are today, so it's not coming across all that well.

Bomber from Brennan’s Brookfield. This is a very important rating. It will be another 100k ratings before I hit #13 and the mark of the BEAST in the same rating! I figure this was appropriate. Seems like its old, which is the norm at Brennan’s. But its an imperial stout so hopefully it will work. Onto the rating. Black, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roasted malt, coconut, soy, smoke. The taste is chocolate, roast, smoke, coconut, a hint of cherry. Medium bodied, actually quite nice!

Daft at the brewery. Dark, ruddy brown, small silky skin of head. Sweet caramel aroma, soft. Gets sweeter in taste, with nice syrupy mouthfeel. Roast malts in there too, providing a solid backbone for this candy bar of a beer. Sip and savor.

On tap at woodland empire boise. Pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is amazing toasted coconut sweet milk chocolate caramel like a milky way and a almond joy had a baby. Taste is more of the nice coconut chocolate caramel sweetness hit the salt. Sweet and salty a junk food person wet dream. Maybe a touch to much salt but this is great.
