On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear reddish color with a small white head. A light toffee nose. The flavor is very light, caramel, pine. Soft. Ok. Unusual old ale.

Nice dark and nutty ale, smooth, drinkable, nice example of the style. Worth exploring for the adventurous.t Resampled in Bend in 2017. Still holds up the original rating. Nice texture and feel.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a clear chestnut color with a medium beige head that recedes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Medium body with flavors of grainy malt, caramel and grassy hops. The finish is sweet with a toasted malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at the brewery. Chestnut and clear, with a light taupe head. Lots of great malt here and some complex dark fruit. This was easily my favorite beer of the sampler.

Tap at brewpub :Hazy reddish brown, beige head.Light malt nose. Thinly carbonated light malt profile, floral hop end. I wasn’t impressed Couldn’t detect alcohol, seemed more like a somewhat bland session beer.
