Sweet malt dominates this heller bock, slightly hazy golden with creamy off white head. Slightly musty aroma, sourdough, bubblegum. Taste is sweet malt with some sourness on the tail end. Mouthfeel is heavy but slick. Still good, although I think this sample was nearing the end of its shelf life.

Chevy Chase, DC 500ml ($4): Pours a slightly cloudy yellow/gold body with a white head. Aroma is bubblegum, nondescript fruitiness, and sugar. Yes, this beer is chewy. Bubblegum taste all around this jawn. Some hop bitterness, especially towards the end of it. Fortunately, there be no alcohol taste. I don’t know if this is something that I would care to have again, but it is fine.

500ml bottle. Hazy golden-tan body with a big, steady white head. Sweet, sugary malt aroma, some faint bocky pungency and light noble hops. Rather drinkable, fresh enough, considering it’s probably had a longish shelf life. Clean golden malt tone, almost watery. A little thin on the body, but that is always better than a syrupy, overbearing mess. This is a pretty respectable Heller-Bock, Grassy noble hops, pretty subdued. A decent beer, enjoyable.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. BBF 14. Pours lightly hazy gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is light bready. Med body;frothy carb. Flavor is bready, with some noble hop. Something of a citrus touch off and on. Finishes breadily bitter.
