On tap at woodland empire boise. This was my first woodland empire beer I really loved. I am happy they are making it again. Pours out brown topped with a small head. nose is great light coffee roast a touch of malts and a little sweetness. The first time I had this I was thinking it was the second running of a big imperial porter but nope they made it low and easy. Taste is more of the roast malts nice coffee touch and a little bitterness.

Bottle thanks to Toby. Pours a dark brown color with a large white head. A huge coffee nose. The flavor big sweet coffee, vanilla, toast. Sweet malty base. Odd mix. Huge coffee suits a bigger brew.

Interesting take, with the added coffee. Most of the bitterness comes from the coffee whih dominates this beer. If you don’t like coffee, stay away.

On Tap at the Boise tasting room. Clear deep brown.mahogany with a ring of light tan bubbles. Big coffee aroma, but none of the burnt over-roasted notes that are in a lot like this. Some bitter chocolate and toasted grain and ore coffee in the flavor. But again, in a soft smooth way. Maybe the best coffee featured/ forward beer I’ve had. As good as Founders (though a different style) Very drinkable and at 3.4%, Rob I think nailed what he was going for on this.
