Initial Point is a landmark in the great state of Idaho. Selected in 1867 by LaFayette Cartee, this site was used to survey all other cities and landmarks in the state.
Slanted Rock’s American style IPA is a medium intensity beer, golden in color with moderately-high bitterness. It is kettle and dry hopped with Cascade for it’s floral and citrus aroma characteristics. Columbus hops upfront provide high bittering and Crystal malts add a caramelize sweetness to the crisp finish.

Can: Hazy orange in color, moderate beige head. Nose is floral and sweet, lightly musty. Floral hops flavors, a bit of pine, and some dusty/grainy notes. Good level of bitters. Overall OK.

12oz can pours out a orangeish golden topped with a white head. Nose is sweet malts citrus hops and a little fruit. Taste is as the nose with a good little hop bill.

Cloudy orange amber with thick rocky head. Aroma of malt and light hops, taste is a bit more complex with the malt haps, spice and grassy elements all playing together. Mildly bitter with no lingering palate. Average.

On Tap at the BP hazy orange light amber with a small fine sandy head. Modest hop aroma and fairly bitter. Not a ton of hop flavor. A middle of the road IPA

On tap at the Mountain Brewers’ Fest 2013. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. The aroma is rich very deep fruity notes, some resin. The flavor was clean, flavorful, balanced with bitterness and more deep fruit. Light crystal earthiness. Very nice.
