Sample at GABF 09/26/2015, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Brownish-black pour with a medium khaki head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate in the nose. Medium body with flavors of roast malt, dark chocolate and coffee. The finish is roasty with a coffee and malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

Tap @ BP. Near black pour with a finger of creamy brown head. Roast and light cocoa nose, same in the taste. A decent amount of hops and bittersweet cocoa goes well with the roast. Smooth texture. Enjoyable.

Growler thanks to Toby. Pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is chocolate some hop and a nice roast. Taste is as the nose with a heavy hop and a nice light smoke. Pretty good overall.

On tap at Payette’s Black friday event. Black and smooth with a touch of sweetness. Sugary molasses mixed with roast grains, black with spare head. Not bad, but not exceptional either.

On tap at Payette Brewing tap house during their "Black Friday" event. Black with a minimal head. A ring of light tan bubbles. Cold very faint roasted aroma. Fair sweet and roasty flavors. Some papery notes. Smooth and clean. Standard stout.
