On tap in Pittsburgh. Pours dark crimson with beige head. Aroma is light caramel malt, medium body, medium carbonation, and some thin small bubble lacing. Taste is caramel malt and balancing hops. Lots of flavor, good Irish ale.

The wait staff told me it was like a Killian’s but reminded me more of German dunkel. Very smooth taste and mellow. A pleasant surprise.

6 pack from Giant Eagle. Pours a deep mahogany hue with a small white head. The aroma is light caramel and toasted malts. The flavor is a sweet mix of chocolates and caramel, some dryness. Pretty clean. Almost porter-like at times.

On tap at a pub in Palm Beach Airport. Pours dark brown with reddish hues and a medium, tan head. The aroma is toffee and caramel malts, light earthy and floral hops. The flavor is sweet and malty, with faint bitterness in the finish. The palate is medium to heavy, sticky, and a fairly astringent. Overall, this is a malt bomb, with a fair hop profile for balance. Not too bad.

I had fairly low expectations for this one but it ended up being fairly pleasant. +++ Sampled on draft at D’s in Monroeville this beer poured a dark caramel-brown color with a medium sized foamy beige head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweetish and malty with light fruity hops and a bit of bread. The flavor was semi sweet bread, caramel, nut and wood with undertones of faint vague tangy fruity hops. Surprisingly complex. The finish was long with notes of wood, bread and nut. Medium body. Exceeded expectations.

OK, so Rocky Blie couldn’t have his own beer but the rooneys can, go figure. Smooth mild easy going for the most part. Pour is quite dark, enough to be considered a dark beer. Pretty good fun for a lager lover, quite beery but not over the top in any way. Aroma hints like the friendly sweat of a girlfriend. Finish is mild malt or possibly lagerized dull industrial hops. Overall good beer experience.
