12oz bottle pours with a crystal clear copper body that has thick gold edges and supports a thin mocha colored head. The aroma offers up winter spices, a spicy maple note and some malts. The taste has some nice winter spiciness and a bit of spicy maple like notes and then it slides deep into sugar sweet maltiness. Behind those notes are some sweet apple and pear like fruity esters that only build onto the sweetness. This would be more enjoyable if it had better balance between all the sweetness and the slightly roasty to spicy notes.

Draught @ The Ginger Man, NYC. Pours clear amber with smll off-white head. Clear aroma of malt with hoppy and estery touches. Sweetish, eatery flavour with a good deal of skunk and malt. Skunky aftertaste. Nothing really special.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with medium creamy white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is honey malt and fruit. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet hop and honey flavor with nice lingering light dry finish. A good marzen from Abita.

A weak example fo the German fall festbier. Some of the taste notes are there, but it has a very watered down mouthfeel. Decent, but wouldn’t past muster in Germany...

Just not very good. Fizzy soda pop like appearance and aroma, looks a whole lot like a cream soda. Mainly caramelly, with some squash-type vegetal notes.

Pour is an amber with a large white head. Aroma is of crystal malts and not much else. Flavor is is again more crystal malt with a little nutty aftertaste. Un-exciting and fair at best.

Location: 12 oz bottle from jcos, 9/21/09

Aroma: Light bready/biscuity malt nose, light fruit
Appearance: Clear golden-orange pour, almost no head
Flavor: Malty up-front, and a semi-sweet fruity flavor follows
Palate: Light-medium, a little too much carbonation, a touch watery
Overall Impression: I’m surprised I hadn’t rated this one before. This is a decent beer, has some interesting flavors to it, kind of light of nose and a bit watery, but a decent taste. Overall, its average or just above, and drinkable. Nice seasonal beer to enjoy with a football game.

on tap-pours a thin retaining off white head and amber color. Aroma is medium malt-sweet, herbal hops. Taste is medium malt-sweet, herbal hops, which offsets the sweet, then some floral. 3.0
