Blackcurrant belongs amongst our most favourite fruits to use in a sour beer. Its intense sour and fruity character is a perfect match for the lactic sourness of our kettle sour. The sourness of this one might make you cringe your teeth a bit, but the flavour is totally worth it.

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Cloudy purple colour, pink head. Intense aroma of citric black currant yoghurt. Tart with light to medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Citric black currant squash. No trace of fermentation or grains, rather much alike granny's black currant squash. Might be fun for kids.

ABV: 5.1%. Murky medium red colour with a small to average, frothy, good - fair lacing, mostly diminishing, pink head. Aroma is wheat, minerals, herbs, blackberry. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, blackcurrant, minerals - wheat, wheat, medium dry to dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20240426]

Can (from Zinc Craft Bar, Vaasa). Hazy red colour, small pink head. Aroma is blackcurrant, some mild tart wooden tones with raspberries too. Flavour is blackcurrant, some tart wooden tones with mild blueberries as well.

Can, courtesy of MiP. Pours hazy ruby with airy pinkish head. Clear aroma of blackcurrants and sour yeast, with hints of malt. Dry flavour of currants and sour yeast, with mild touches of malt. Dry and estery aftertaste. Reasonable for the style.
