It was 25 years ago that we planted our flag in North County San Diego. We showed up to a modest, empty warehouse with some mighty big dreams. We thought people deserved a world with better beer, and were determined to be part of a cultural transformation we believed could happen… even though few others shared our vision. This massive triple IPA is another important milestone on our continuing journey. Speaking of journeys, for reasons you may guess, our 25th Anniversary Celebration in 2021 will be a bit understated for such a monumental anniversary, so we’ve decided to hold our big event in 2022 with the Stone 25+1 Years In The Making Anniversary Celebration. After a quarter of a century and quite a few twists and turns, we’re still here. Here for hops. Here for quality. Here for making great mistakes. Here for more good times. Here for another round. We thank you sincerely for the years of support and pledge that we will, as always, strive to live up to the reasons for your loyalty!

Can. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Grapefruit and malt aroma with light pine. Grapefruit and pine flavor with caramel. Medium bodied. Very good bitterness. Grapefruit and pine linger with caramel.

33cl Blik. Holy moly wat een kneiter. Mistig oranje-amber kleur, vuilwitte kraag. Bittere sinaasappelmarmelade, bloemig, zoet, licht boozy, hint van grapefruit en dennen, meer marmelade, fors bittere en aanhoudende finish. Volle body, maar toch verraderlijk drinkbaar. Over de top, maar wel lekker.

12 oz can dated 8/11/21. Pours a hazed amberish golden with an off-white head. Pine and grapefruit hop aromas with a sweet juiciness. Flavor also quite piney, juicy citrus grapefruit and orange, touches of caramel and tropical fruit. Quite a good beer here.

Stone 25th Anniversary Triple IPA 12.5% I remember getting the bombers of their anniversary brew each year then they switched to a smaller size and I stopped. I also lost interest in Stone to be honest. Anyways, happy anniversary to these long time craft beer brewers. On cracking the can you quickly got the resinous piney caramel of old. The body is full with a slick thick mouthfeel. The color is Amber orange with light beige foam. The taste is caramel and pine resin, very bitter. Really old school late 90s/early aughts craft bold IPA. Blast from the past for my tastebuds!

12oz can from Stone RVA. Light amber colored pour, thin tight, foamy head. Malty aroma. Taste amplifies the malts and adds a healthy dose of hops with notes of leather and tobacco. Surprisingly both.

12oz can Deep golden pour. Small white head. Big smooth pale maltiness, think palate. Dank and deep citrus pith hop character. Firm bitterness and bold over all. Nice

Can. Pours clear orange, medium beige head, good lacing. Aroma is caramel, pine, orange. Flavor is medium sweet, full bitter. Def. An old school American barleywine here. Thick mouthfeel. Hot AF.

Apple and orange nose. Clear copper, thin head. Overripe orange, grapefruit. Grass finish. Medium body, easy carbonation, hot. Boozy and bitter. I have to be in a certain mood for this.

This beer was located at the top craft beer shop in the area about a week ago. Stone, a good start, and a high abv triple ipa, also good. Using a Belgian Ale glass tonight. Because that is how I rock. Flipping the tab on the 12 oz can and tilting into the glass to determine a medium dark gold body with a light top of almost white, quite fine bubbles. I dig the smell, turpentine and tropical fruit. The taste is very good, short of outstanding, with pine cones, sweet pineapple, hops, meadow, thinner, malt and alfalfa. Heavy on the tongue, an attribute of the alcohol I am assuming. Not my favorite style, a ways from it, but I can understand quality.
