Keg at the brewery taproom Amsterdam. A dark reddy mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting sticky light tan head. Aroma is ashy roast, spicy, dusty, singed pine. Flavour is composed of slightly acrid roast, ash, charred, no big sorachi, bitter roast. Palate is semi sweet, bitter moderate carbonation. Drying finish.

Davantage de complexité aurait pu me faire chavirer. Plaisant.

Canned 330ml. -from De Bierkoning Amsterdam. Black coloured, small to medium sized pale beige head, hops and chocolate in the nose. Light roasted malt, chocolate, mild coffee and noticable hops with touch of wood in bitter hoppy finish. Quite nice surprise.

0.33 l can from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', canned in December 2018. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of dark chocolate, caramel, blueberry, cassis and a touch of coffee. Gently sweet, malty, moderately roasty, fruity-resiny taste of dark chocolate, licorice, caramel, tropical fruits, cassis, blueberry and some pine, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, moderately earthy-dry, slightly resiny finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Interesting beer, pretty hoppy for a Stout (as expected, of course ), I've had Black IPA's which were less hoppy.
