Bottle from Eebria. Pretty much black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma starts light smoke, with chocolate. Its the taste that has the chilli, subtle at first but growing and growing, also the taste has a subtle smokiness. Decent body.

Keg at BD Sheps, 08/12/16. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is a touch eggy, light roast, spice, cocoa powder, dark fruit tang, not the best smelling beer. Taste comprises chocolate, green pepper, well integrated chilli burn, black pepper, habenero. Medium bodied, fine carbontion, drying close with a green chilli kick. Ok chilli porter .. nose wasn’t great but generally well balanced.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours black with small tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, light coffee which doesn’t exactly warn of what’s to follow. Taste is initial roast which soon subsides to let a wave of chili to wash over to the back of the palate, bringing with it some grainy roasted malt and faint cocoa. Quite a fiery heat to this, for a chili-head like myself it’s probably just enough, could be too much for some.

On keg at the Black Isle Bar, Inverness. Appearance - Nose - tonnes of coffee over milk chocolate. Taste - coffee and chilli. Luscious milk chocolate washes it away. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry but getting spicier by the minute, finish. Overall - that was good. Now time to get my shit together for that high fallightin wine tasting in an hour or so.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is roasted malts, chocolate, light chipotle, taste is sweet chocolate, toffee, fiery chipotle, heat builds to a tingly finish. Almost wondering if it needs more chipotle...probably not.

Bottle big thanks to Dave & The Fierce team. It pours black with a decent tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, mocha coffee and warming chilli spice. The taste is dry, rich roasted malt, mild smoke, coffee, warming chilli spice, cocoa and a hint of alcohol with a dry, warming spice finish. Medium + body and fine carbonation. Hard not to like.
