Bottle. Strong ’Red Hots’ type cinnamon, vegetal pumpkin, and apple aroma. Honey gold with a small off-white head. ’Red Hots’ cinnamon (without the heat), vegetal pumpkin malt flavor. I just recently had the Shipyard Pumpkinhead and this seems like a beefed up, higher alcohol version of the same thing, both having the same strong ’Red Hots’ flavor. I did not enjoy this one at all.

Bottle. Cinnamon and stale pumpkin aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet cinnamon (like red hots without the heat) and light pumpkin malt. Not particularly well balanced. Not a fan.

Sample at the DBLDP on 09/02/2012: This brew pours a clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. The aroma is sweet pumpkin spices and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of pumpkin, molasses and sweet malt. The finish is cinnamon and pumpkin with a sweet aftertaste. Decent overall.

$7.50 for the bomber at my local store. enjoyed at fridge temp in a tulip. More orange than brown sort of appearance. Not much head at all. Lots of pumpkin taste like canned pumpkin though. Not too fresh. Hints of cloves, nutmeg and brown sugar. Up front, loads of pumpkin. Spicy in the middle and a sweet and sort of bland pumpkin puree. It’s a solid beer. The ABV is well hidden.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a vibrant golden color with a trace white head that faded instantly and left no lacing. The aroma was sugar and faint pumpkin pie spices. The flavor was sweet and tangy sugar, cinnamon and faint nutmeg. The finish was medium length sugar and spice. Fairly full bodied. Ok.

Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of light nutmeg and cinnamon with solid caramel notes. Taste is dominated by some solid malt backbone with a semi-sweet touch of caramel which is very well balanced by some cinnamon and nutmeg. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Easily drinkable with nice balance and alcohol isn’t’ apparent though can be somewhat dangerous considering how drinkable this beer is. One of the best beer I have tried form this brewery.

That time of the year to get pumpkin ales at the LCBO. Pours a slightly hazy golden-amber colour with a creamy-foam white head that stays a while and leaves decent lacing. The nutmeg is the biggest thing in the aroma with some pumpkin pulp in the back. It does not say cinnamon in the ingredients, but I sure taste that spice, and smell it as well (which I find better than too much nutmeg). The problem with this beer is the ABV level. It does get better as it breathes, but I am not sure this brew needs to have such a high alcohol content. Other than that, a pretty good warming brew for Halloween.

Tart orange, lemon, and cranberry aroma,, with faint cinnamon notes. It all works quite well. Hazy orange, medium yellow head, little retention. Flavor is less fruity with a more pronounced pumpkin presence. Orange and clove appears at midpalate. Finishes slightly gingery. Alcohol completely masked, medium body. Probably the most tart and fruity pumpkin ale I’ve had to date. A little off balance in that regard. Unique, but I tired of it quickly.

22oz bottle. Poured it vigorously, so it had a large white foamy/fluffy head with a solid golden orange body. Aroma was kind of boring at the onset, but as it settled and warmed a bit - pumpkin, no mistaking it (they do suggest letting it warm, they aren’t lying). Flavor was a nice pumpkin spice with notes of pumpkin. Alcohol was hidden quite well - but it eventually hits you. Probably middle-tier as far as pumpkin ales go, but certainly worth checking out.

Pour is a bright orange with a small white head. Aroma is pumpkin and other spices. Flavor is a decent pumpkin a little lingering spice and a nice hop backbone. The hops really stand out in a beer going the spice route. This is probably a beer for those that aren’t sure about pumpkin beers. Everything is here in the way of spice and pumpkin but not over done.
