Made using the once commonplace, Old World technique of bière de coupage, freshly hopped, young beer is blended with old, sour beer aged in oak barrels. Das Wunderkind! is dry, highly attenuated, unspiced, tart, floral, and funky. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, and 100% naturally conditioned.

75cl bottle @ Coracle, Ironbridge. Pours misty gold, large foamy white head. Spicy wild fruity nose. Spritzy fine bubbles, funky citrussy leanings with wild brett, grapefruit, lemon finishing quite dry. Good well-rounded wild ale.

Draught @ Bells & Whistles. Quite pale, and with a bit of haze. Medium head. On the nose, some dried flowers and that sort of thing, a bit of yeast, light brett. Herbal, floral, with a honeyish note, again light brett. Fairly dry - clean and well-balanced, with a nice malt underpinning. A beer that you'd drink a lot of, if given the option.

On tap. Pours a light hazy gold with little head. Aromas of dull wheat, candied citrus and a little Belgian yeast. Flavors of sweetened lemons, Fruit jelly Dupont yeast and wheaty malts. Can’t get much barrel but not really needed. Pretty subtle though clean, and fruit does shine. Session Saison.

A glass at Bells and Whistles shared with Sunshine. Pours a hazy blonde with a white head. Aroma is very fresh with lots of pleasant fruity and barrel notes as well as some slight funk. Taste is similar, not that complex, along the same lines. Very drinkable. Good.

Beim Öffnen heftiges Gushing, darunter leidet leider die Spritzigkeit. Aromatisch klar ein Sour, fruchtig vergoren, Birne, Aprikose, Mirabellen. Im Trunk dank Gushing etwas flach. Wenig sauer, trocken, holzig, mittig bis hinten leicht bitter. Ganz hinten nochmal ne Schippe Trockenheit im Rachen, sehr interessanter Abgang, klasse.

Bottle from brewery in a bottle: pours a pale hazy yellow with a white head. Bottle was a bit of a gusher. Aroma is lightly funky, citrusy a hint earthy. Taste is not really sour, perhaps a bit tart. Very interesting finish. Pleasant aftertaste. Smooth body with a bretty sort of tang. I liked it a lot.
