Shipyard Applehead is a crisp, refreshing wheat ale with a delightful apple aroma and subtle cinnamon flavor. This beer is available in 6-packs, 12-packs and on draft.

We asked Pumpkinhead fans what other flavors would they like to see and their answer was apple,” said director of sales and marketing, Bruce Forsley. “We listened to what our fans asked for and created Shipyard Applehead. Master brewer Alan Pugsley has combined the subtle sweetness of cinnamon and apple with a clean, refreshing wheat ale to create a whole new beer experience.

Pours clear deep gold into a shaker. Head crackles and disappears. Apple pie aromas. Soft with sweet apple and cinnamon upfront turning to yeasty wheat in the medium length finish.

Had 3 of these while home brewing today. Very interesting don’t think I’ve had apple beer before. Tastes of tart granny smith apples, with cinnamon, grass, and some floral notes. Pretty refreshing

12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear amber color with a medium creamy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of big cinnamon notes, brown sugar and faint apples. Like what I imagine Apple Jaxx to smell like, though I haven’t had that in years. The taste is cinnamon, toasted malts, other spices and an apple finish. Medium bodied. Overpowered by the spice.

Well this is different, and surprising to find myself saying that about a Shipyard beer. Light crisp malts, a little sweetish, with spiced apple cider aromas and flavors. Golden color, a little fizzy.
