Bottle, courtesy of makrwise, pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up earthy sweet dates, brown sugar, prunes and some molasses. This is an inviting odor that I have a hard time resisting. Here goes, the taste delivers brown sugar, molasses and prunes and then a pleasing degree of earthy sugary dates and a bit of fig that joins in toward midway. Wow! This is nice but will be even better with some more cellar time to better smooth out and integrate that flavor notes.

Nice slightly brown bubbly mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, caramel malts, dried fruits, nuts, toffee, raisins, chocolate, grass, strawberry, alcohol, dark sugar, citrus. Taste is slightly harsh boozy, grass, alcohol, harsh hops, caramel malts, "knekk", citrus peel, hay, nuts, cardboard, dried fruits. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh and dry mouthfeel. Not really my cup of tea. Maybe with some aging it’ll get better...

Pretty much an opaque dark brown beer, small creamy tan colour head. Palate is semi dry and crisp. Dark toffee malts, not sweet. Slight oxidised taste. Light woody biiterness. Traces of dark chocolate and spice. Semi dry finish. Simple but tasty and effective.

Bottle bought @ The Mikkeller Webshop. Pours dark wooden brown with a thin goldenish beige head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet and malty with caramel, toffee, sweet dark bread, prunes, raisins, in brandy, hay, alcohol, oatmeal, orange zest and alcohol. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter and malty with caramel, toffee, toasted malts, prunes, hay, leather, alcohol, oatmeal and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is soft, round, velvety, slightly boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and malty with caramel, dark bread, oatmeal, prunes, hay, alcohol and lemon zest. Tasty but a tad bit hot. should have saved this for 6-12 months.

On tap at Jackie O’s. Pours a deep amber almost brown, but lighting is poor. Flavor and aromas are both big grain and booze with a hint of pit fruit, but this was just a little too much malt and ABV for my tastes.

Approximately 4 ounce sample at the Jackie O’s Public House in Athens, Ohio. The pour is a very hazed brown orange with a small tan head. The aroma is a rounded sweet malt, a bit of vanilla, and then big malt nuttiness. The taste is the nutty sweet malt, dark fruit, then turns to a sharp and harsh alcohol bite. The palate is medium to heavy bodied, low carbonation, and a dry boozy finish. Has potential.
