Bottle 50 cl. Pours a dark amber with a slight haze and a rough, lazy beige head that leaves some lacework. Nutty, caramellish nose. Medium body only, some caramel sweetness, fruity, floral and again nutty with a slight acidity. Quite some potent German hops in the finish. Not too bad. 260813

bottle from the brewery. clear brown, smooth fluffy light brown head. caramelly and flowery hoppy aroma, faint nutty note. flavor is flowery, hoppy, caramelly, nuttty. flavor profile reminds me a little of a brown ale, although this is of course another type of beer altogether. As a doppelbock i find it has a bit too much caramel (tastes like belgian or milk caramel), and not enough strong lagerish notes. Doesn’t taste bad, but appears a little heavy and sweet. palate is very smooth.
