(bottle, 33cl) Almost black coloured hue with a medium-sized and tanned foamy head. Leathery, mildly roasted malty aroma with notes of liquorice, dark chocolate, dried berries and fruity noble hops. Mildly roasty bitter flavour with a touch of Porter-sourness, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly roasty malty and a tad slim malty base, backed by notes of chocolate, liquorice, earthy hints and hoppy fruitiness and spice; mildly roasty bitter, delicately sour finish with notes of chocolate and a tinge of liquorice-sweetness in the aftertaste. Tastes somewhat like a touch of almost everything a Porter can offer, hard to believe it is a Baltic one, nevertheless likeable in my humble opinion. 29.I.16

Smooth dark and roasted brew. Hints of sourness, malty and rich. The malt is not too intense, dark chocolate, round and smooth. Moderate bitterness with hints of malty sweetness in the end. Not bad but somehow strange.

Tap (Hopfenreich, Berlin). Barwa niemal czarna z rubinowymi refleksami pod swiatlo, piana bezowa, szybko redukujaca sie do cienkiego kozuszka, delikatnie krazkujaca. Aromat czekoladowy, bardzo przyjemny w calkiem intensywnym wydaniu. W smaku czekolada lecz niestety w wyraznym kwaskiem w kontrze co troche psuje odczucie. Poza tym piwo fajnie sie pije choc po parterze baltyckim oczekiwalem ciut wiecej ciala.

0,33 l bottle bought at Grebhan´s, Bremen. Pours out black and oily. Beige two finger head, not very long living. Fruity coffie nose with hop. A lot of coffie and citrus at the start. Toasted malt, some salty hints. Bready. Dark berriefruity sweetness. Really nice.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average, thick, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Chocolately, roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of dark bread, pumpernickel, a salty touch of liquorice, some treacle. Taste is initially roasty dark malty, salty, notes of liquorice, with slightly prickling carbonation; mutates later, while loosing its "lighter" flavours, into slightly sweet dark malty, chocolately, with a more creamy, slightly sticky palate; a centric, bready, pumpernickel layer pulls through. Good.

Keg at Galloper design jahres, 16/07/15. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent light beige covering. Nose is roast malt, liquorice, dark fruit rinds. Toffee, light charr, cocoa rub. Taste comprises rich malt, fruit cake, leather, light spice, aniseed, chocolate. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, roasted drying close. Decent Baltic, good balance.

(Draught at Hopfenreich, Berlin, 17 July 2015) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark bread, raisins and chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark bread, raisins and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. A decent and quite tasty porter, but not very baltic in my opinion. Quite nice.
