3 week old bottle A: Poured hard to a thin quick head atop a blackish brown body. Light film of lace. S: Roasty coffee, chocolate and sweet caramel. T: Follows the nose closely. Bitter roast coffee and unsweetened chocolate. Chestnut and powdered cocoa sweetness underneath. M: A bit thin but very smooth and slick. Low carbonation and powdery finish. Lactose-y though there is none. O: Hard to find fault. Solid, just not very memorable.

Translucent dark brown color. Small creamy tan head. Roasty malt nose hints at chocolate and toasted bread. First sip brings notes of cocoa, roasted malt, tobacco and brown butter. As the Porter warms, the flavor evolves and there are hints of earthy, woody, burnt sugar and burnt raisins. Quite flavorful, this one, Agnes.

Good porter, if a tad thin. Pours a solid dark brown-black, and the nose gives up coffee and chocolate like a good porter should. Taste is right in line, coffee acidity mingling with bitter cocoa and a mild cherry-raisin tartness. Never grows sweet, which is nice, and the fade stays dry, mild hop bitterness accentuating the mocha finish. Feel isn’t great, but we can deal with it.

Bottle shared by PinkZambia rich very dark brown and a smooth silky tan head. Full soft pallate and plenty of body. Lots of roasty flavors but not biter or charcoal. Very nice porter

Poured a dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma was lots of roasted malts, some bitter chocolates, light toffee, splash of coffee. Flavor was a vibrant roasted character with a nice, bitter dark chocolate character. Light creamy character. Pretty solid.

Some roast with coffee. Well balanced and decent. Pours black with good head and lacing. Bitter finish. Nothing super original here but good. Bottle.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a jet black color with an off white one finger head that ended up having a light speckled lacing.
The smell had a nice blend of roasty sweet coffee beans and chocolate malts.
The taste followed the nose.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was fairly tame which made it really easy to put it down the ol’ hatch.
Overall, this was a pretty good Porter to have again if I could get it.

Pours mahogany-tinged black into a Sam glass. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Pit fruit, smoke and chocolate aromas. Dry with sweet chocolate and caramel upfront turning smoky in the lasting espresso finish.
