Roasted and toasted malts present int he aroma of this dark porter. Some light cocoa, and caramel, too. Smooth and thin body aid its drinking. Lightly roasted malts, a touch of coffee, cocoa, bitter dark chocolate, and a pleasant sourness make up its flavor. Ends with a mild bitter and sourness to it. A very nice porter. Could definitely drink a few more of these.

12oz bottle. Near Opaque brown-black, with some red stained-glass corners. Big, fluffy beige head. An interesting beer. Medium to full-bodied, displays an odd tartness not unlike the NG Old World Porter. Smooth chocolate tones over a fruity bitterness. A touch too tangy for the style, I was expecting a real luscious malty example. Off? Maybe, still enjoyable.

Bottle from craftbeerdesign. Thanks a bunch guy. Pours black with a three finger medium tan head. Chocolate and burnt malt aromas. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is definitely chocolate, a bit chalky, ashey. Smooth. Unusually mouthsmacking. Really like this.

Bottle. Black with an inch of brown head. Sweet chocolates in the aroma as well as some dark fruit.Coffee, chocolates, and raisins in the mouth. Nice.

Overall Impression: A nice beer with a big porter flavor. Filled with nice coffee, chocolate, spice, and roasted flavors.

Bottle 12fl.oz. @ home.[ Trade by GAManiac ]. Clear dark dark red brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, sea water notes, a bit like a ouster stout ! Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery - thin, carbonation is soft. [20090430]

One 5 oz sample of a 6 beer sampler at 3 son’s in Wexford, nice place. Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Supposedly by the DR owner. Dark, very nice looking with a creamy head. Has a roasty aroma. Overall the aesthetics of this beer is quite appealing. Mild roasty charred flavors greet the palate. Not too much carbonation, but there is this creamy sensation. Burned wood campfire bitterness and char builds thru the session. Good finish but could have a few more manners. Not bad overall, good beer tasting experience. DR porter S6L4F2T5011

Courtesy of Cigarcitybrew. Pours light black, off white, thick. Aroma grilled, cofeeish. Taste, roasted as well, light hoppy after taste, grainy finish, with nice chocolate malts. One fantastic porter, this is really the dark beer specialist.
