Courtesy of SeaBass. The liquid pours deep darkness with amber edges and full mocha head. The aroma is wood, chocolate, vanilla, molasses and caramel. Very inviting smell where the aromatics blend together with a sense of harmony and balance. The taste is much the same with caramel, some molasses and robust levels of vanilla. To midway bourbon, coconut and wood enter the picture. The wood notes grow into the finish moving from a supporting flavor role to a dominant one. It has a pleasing mouth feel too where the body wasn’t overly thinned out from the barrel treatment. Very nice stuff.

courtesy of screamforme. Bottle#626 Pours pitch black with thick lasting mocha head, leave some golden lacing. Aroma had bourbon written all over it, notes of vanilla and wood and light roasted malts. It is primarily bourbon that comes thru and not too over the top. Taste, quite boozy for 8.5% and glad it wasn’t any higher. Starts sweet with notes of vanilla then bourbon topped with roasted malts and chocolate and some light notes of dark fruits.. All is just well balanced. That was some yummy beer.

From Skyview’s growler carried back from Montana. The aroma has malt and soy sauce. It is a very thick beer, heavy and slow pouring. Black and almost no carbonation. I was happy that there was no whisky flavor. Thick beer. Flavor has roasted malt, just a litlte smoke, more soy sauce, some alcohol and unprocessed grain. Not quite world class, but well done. 7/5/7/5/14 Rerate from a bottle. Big wine flavor, and light sourness in addition to the other flavors. Much better from the bottle.
