In the beginning, there was nothing. Then an impish brewer piled a ludicrous amount of hops inot a batch of beer. This zymurgical big bang is Epic Armageddon, an apocalyptic assault on your preconceptions and taste buds. It may be too huge for this fragile planet so enjoy this beer like it was the last one on Earth

500ml bottle from New World Hokitika. Color description not possible here, but there’s a medium head. This IPA is strong on aroma hops as are many Epic beers, but this one is the most balanced so far. A bit less aggressive than the Hop Zombie. Dry, bitter finish.

330 ml bottle from Systembolaget Passagen, Stockholm.
Clear, amber body, with a medium, creamy, white head.
Smooth, floral aroma of citrus, lychee, tropical fruits, peach, some berries, biscuit.
Taste follows this, with more bitterness and adds some more pine, a bit grass and more smooth malts.
Medium, quite creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes bitter, quite dry, zesty, a bit sweet malty.
Tasty! Smooth, quaffable and easy to drink. The balance between floral hops and smooth malts is really good! Overall a lovely IPA, with a more balanced character and less hop bite than others.

Clear golden, big, white, frothy head. Grapefruit and caramel aroma. Flavour has a more piney bitterness than the aroma suggests and also some light caramel. Not bad, but rather straight forward IPA.

Clear and golden with a nice head. Hoppy, but also more caramely than it looks. Very good

Keg at Six Des Abz. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is pine needles, orange peel, grapefruit, dough and orange sponge cake. The taste is bitter, piney, varnish, resin, light alcohol, varnish, citrus peel and metallic twang with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent IPA.
