In the beginning, there was nothing. Then an impish brewer piled a ludicrous amount of hops inot a batch of beer. This zymurgical big bang is Epic Armageddon, an apocalyptic assault on your preconceptions and taste buds. It may be too huge for this fragile planet so enjoy this beer like it was the last one on Earth

330ml bottle from Systembolaget Storheden. Deep dark golden body colour. Fair, off-white head. Spotty lacing. Aromas of dried fruits, wood, and caramel malts. Malt-fruity taste, grapefruit mixed with toffee and butter. Bittersweet ending. Fine bodied and smooth on the swallow. Likable (shared with djoeye, hotel room, Luleå 25.05.2014).

Bottle at home. Pours golden, sticky toffee, dry, bitter, some juicy hops, bitterness mostly obliterates anything else.

Bottle. It’s a clear, golden beer topped by a small, dense, off-white to light beige head. The aroma has pine cones, grapefruit, orange zest, some caramel maltyness and a little touch of alcohol. It’s full-bodied and with a pleasant carbonation level. A nice bitterness in the flavor, both initally and in the end. Pine cones, resins and orange zest. Lasting bitter finish. A pretty nice IPA, but I should probably have had it fresh. 140420

Bottle brought back from Australia by my mom. Pours a dark orange with a half finger of white head. Aroma is loads of citrus. Taste is light bitter. Citrus and pine. Light bodied with a slick texture. Lively carbonation and a super long finish. Overall, great. Non-dated but I’m assuming not super fresh. Great beer regardless.

Bottle at home, bought in Sweden, imported to UK, 3rd April 14. Great perfume aroma, good malts, some bitter hops on the finish, quite American in style, liked it.

Bottle at home, from Systembolaget Nordstan, 01/04/14. Golden amber with a good sized off white head, carbonation evident. Nose is caramel malt, bitter orange, light rubber, pine notes, hop presence, floral waftings. Taste is caramel malt forward, honeycomb, sharp grapefruit, pine, candied orange peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, balanced hop bitterness in the close. Decent malt forward IPA with a good hoppy overlay.

50cl bottle pours with a clear copper body that has gold hues and supports a dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up floral hops, earthy lime, sweetened black pepper, some onion dankness and a mild amount of citrus flavored gummy bears. The taste starts off with a mix of bitter floral hops, malt sweetened tangelo and firm resiny pine hoppiness. A dash of thin black pepper rises up as the resiny bitter hops peak in intensity. It has some citrus hop juiciness that pokes through here and there and then it ends with lingering hop bitterness. Nice rich bold hoppy brew.

24.03.2014, 0,33l bottle @ hotel room in Oslo, courtesy of Cunningham:
Big creamy longlasting head. Aroma is fresh fruity, caramel malts, flowers, dried fruits, hops, leafs, sap, lawn. Taste is slightly sweet grassy, caramel malts, leafs, sap, hops, lawn, pine needles, dried fruits, soap. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh mouthfeel. Nice enough.

Smell of hops, spruce. Golden colour, white head. Aroma of spruce, hops, some citrus, finishes with flowers. Rather wild carbon. Very bitter. Very nice and challenging IPA.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 08.07.14, from Systembolaget, 20140320) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, herbalness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, grass, mildly cardboard, some sweetness and low bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, sweet and bitter. Aroma promised more but unfortunately the taste was musty and messy. Old rating: 8-3-6-3-12
(Re-rate, keg at Kitty’s, 20150103) The taste was better; flavours were fruitiness, citricness and creamy toffee. Aftertaste was good, too, having fruitiness and bitterness in balance.
