This tawny-orange ale immediately assults the senses with the character of hops from the Pacific Northwest. An aroma that combines grapefruit pith and pine resin foreshadows a strongly bitter beer. The flavor is spicy and juicy with citrus dominating over honey and floral notes, then giving way to a dry, chalky bitterness. The almost sweet finish is accentuated by the strength of the alcohol.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head leaving a little lacework. Fresh citrusy, piney aroma, loads of resin too. Rich body, sweet malts but surely this is a hop job, heavy herbal citric hoppiness leaving a good bitterness. 100912

Bottle. Pours a hazy light golden amber with a small fizzy white head that dissipates quickly with some lacing. Aroma is pine and citrus - all hops. Flavor is strong bitter pine and citrus (orange and grapefruit), with a bit of malt sweetness up front. Finish is strongly bitter and lasting. Alcohol is well hidden until the far finish when it gives a warming feel. Another good one!

Release #16; 8.9 ABV. Bomber pour into tulip. Appealing balance of hops, bitterness, sweetness and alcohol. A definite "buy again."

Cloudy, light amber color. Light fruity, citrusy, acidic, piney, dry, alcohol well hidden, but not overly balanced. Fun, but not outstanding.
