500ml bottle. Pours dark amber with a thin head. Aroma is caramel, boiled sweets and a bit of skunk. Taste has some caramel to start. Lots of skunked hop on the finish. I’d rerate with a fresher bottle but the clear glass kills it.

[Cask at Neptune’s Hall, Broadstairs] Pale amber, slight white head. Unpleasant vegetable & green leaf smell. Better on tasting - it’s smooth and quite resinous with a slight sparkle. There’s some caramel and grass to offset the smell, but it’s still really not very pleasant.

Bottle: Deep golden, clear, small foamy layer; typical "english" mix of fruits and caramalt in the nose, here with a small amount of aromatic hops underneath; pretty light bodied, dryish bitter-sweet flavour; slightly lingering dry hoppy-fruity finish. Not bad, but the impression of a very light body dominates.......

(bottle) Clear, amber colour with a fluffy and slightly tanned foamy head. Slightly sweet cara-malty nose with subtle fruity notes and a distinctive touch of grassy and perfumed hops. Moderately sweet flavour, light bodied with a crisp mf. Mildly caramelly malty and citric taste with grassy hops; sweet and slightly bitter hoppy finish with grassy notes. I do not like the aroma, but the rest is okay. 05.V.11
