Bottle 65 cl. Pours an almost clear amber with a small off-white head. Sweet licorice allsorts in the nose, very spicy vanilla. Medium body, sweet caramel, coconut, licorice allsorts and a fairly warming alcohol finish while the bitterness is fairly non-existant. Very delicious. 280712

Bomber from Beer Run, opened 5/10/12. Pours a clear dark reddish copper color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of peppery wood notes, vanilla, toffee and a fruity finish. The taste is bitter hops, wood, vanilla, toffee, candied citrus, bitter finish. Medium-full bodied.

22 oz. bottle, pours dark amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma is very hot, with sweet treacle toffee, booze, dried dark fruits (dates, figs, plums), and subtle oak barrels. Flavour is quite similar to the regular Back Burner - treacle toffee, dark dried fruits and booze. Differences to the original: perhaps a bit boozier, dryer, a bit lighter on the palate. Very solid, but I prefer the original.

On tap at the Sugar Maple barleywine fest. Pours a clear amber brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a good amount of caramel with sweet grains and backing light fruit and oak. Flavor begins with grains, caramel and toffee and is joined by a hint of light fruit with oak in the finish.
