Sample at the Strange Brew Tasting on 02/18/2012. This beer pours a deep slightly hazed amber color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily. Aroma of grainy malt, caramel and oak. Medium to full body with flavors of bready malt, resiny hops, caramel and oak. The finish is malty with a bit of caramel and booze in the aftertaste. As with the Pumking the oak aging seems to defray some of the rich sweetness of the original. Pretty good overall.
