500ml bottle. Really excellent Maibock, World Class example of the style. Crystal clear golden straw body. Smooth, rich malts. Perfectly balanced hop tone. Full bodied, but drinks really clean and easy for the ABV. Great.

Clear gold in color with a three-finger head. Aroma is grains with a slight sourness. Taste is also grains with just a very slight hint of spice and wood.

This brewery did a better job with this style than most. Dry bread and heavily hopped. Some alcohol in the aroma. Noble hop aroma. Very dry.

Bottle shared by JK, thanks! Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates quickly and completely with visible carbonation. Aroma has a good amount of bread with some grass and a decent amount of straw supporting. Flavor has slightly sweet grains with bread, light grass and straw backing.

Pour is a crystal clear light golden with an average white head. Aroma is a bit of sweet but dry malt and paper bag oxidation. Flavor is more sweet butterscotch malt more wet paper bag on the finish but leaves a sweetness on the tongue. This was just ok and I can say that there are some American brewers making a better Maibock than this.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Clear golden body with a white head that slowly fades. Lively carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of dried leaves, buttered toast (Mad_Ferret bang on with that tasting note) and rust. Flavour of rich malt backbone and marzipan with a peppery finish. Medium body with a slick texture. Light fizz. Another top quality beer from Andechs. A malty, warming beer.

From tap @ Biermuseum (visited 11.6.2019) in Cologne in Germany and my #4900. F: big, tan, long lasting. C: dark coppery, clear. A: malty, caramel, bit dark bread, toffee, mellow fruity. T: rich malty, bready, caramel, sweet fruity, chocolate touch, medium body and lower carbonation, bit more on the sweet side yet good, enjoyed.

(draught at the Kloster) Hazy, pale golden colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Honey-ish malty, slightly yeasty aroma with notes of white bread, subtle fruity hints, as well as flowery and herbal hops. Moderately sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Soft malt character with notes of bread and honey, backed by flowery and subtle herbal hops, balanced sweet malty and mildly bitter finish with a whiff of booze shining through. More-ish and deceptive pale Bock. 14.VI.17
