Dark brown. The aroma is towards the chewy, molassesy side of things. Good molassesy character. Fairly full body. Toasty finish almost has the harsh roast associated with some foreign stouts or macro darks. But it’s not bad.

Draught@GBBF. Dark nut brown color, small beige head. Caramel, rain water and some diacetyl in the nose. Very sweet, toffee-chocolaty flavor, also kind of saccarine sweetness here. Aftertaste brings some hops.

Bottle at Spuyten Duyvil - medium ruby beer - thick, lasting head - very doughy aroma, with a bit of brown sugar and cherries - a bit of leafy character - bitter up front, followed by some bright fruity notes - fairly high sweetness - missing the roastiness I expect from the style - vanilla? - what’s that doing there? - I didn’t dislike it as much as others did, but it was still one of the low points of the day.

Bottle from Landbierparadies, Nurnberg. Very dark brown with a slight, tan head. Aroma had some roasted notes and dark chocolate. A bit watery in the mouth with more coffee and some fruit flavours. A bit subdued all round.
