Bottle @ Chris’ house in Fürth. Dark brown appearance with a cream colored head. Somewhat buttery, fairly roasty aroma. Tangy, buttery, somewhat nutty, roasty flavor. Too bad the diacetyl ruins the beer.

Getoastet röstiger Malzantrunk auf sehr sehr mildem Level. Unpassend dazu erscheint die Süße, denn so wirkt das Malz mickrig, Leider ist es das tatsächlich, geht man am Anfang noch von einer zwingenden Steigerung aus bittet man im Mitteil nur noch darum, dass überhaupt noch etwas übrig bleibt. Mild süßlicher Abgang, in dem das Malz kaum noch eine Rolle spielt und sich mit dem Getreide gleichgeschaltet hat. Immerhin: Süffig ist es. 9/8/9/8/8/8

Bottle from NWAF, 2011. Reddish brown pour with no head. Burn caramel, chocolate, raisins and toffee aromas. Chocolate, sweet spice and raisin flavours. Warm, spicy finish.

Bottle. Frothy white good mostly lasting head. Dark red-amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Avearge moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also, dark, nice head. Starts malty, not too dry, modest sweet. Well balanced finish with some spicy notes, still warming-malty. I liked it!

Bottle @ Brewery. Pours dark ruby amber with a small creamy white head. Nose is butterscots, vague roast , caramel and dark fruit. Dry and roasted flavor with sweet caramel and fruity hints. Medium bodied. Dry end . .

bottle. Clear deep black colour, mid-sized beige head. Roasted malts, caramel, prunes are ptresent. Dry on the palate. Good example of the style.

Nice, deep mahogany body colour. Malt-grainy aroma. Dark malts in flavour, slightly roasted, added by liquorice and candy sweetness that is not too dominating. Just a dash of dry hops in the finish. One-third pint, 5.2% abv, draught from the German Bar, GBBF 04.08.2009.

Barrel@GBBF2009. Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel malts, some mild sweet wooden notes as well as some slight smoked wet wooden notes. Flavour is quite much the same along with a slight touch of cooked vegetables.
