With Chieftain IPA, Shane wants everything an IPA has to deliver, but he wants you to be able to enjoy another beer after it. Chieftain IPA is a great stepping stone into the land of big and bitter.

[On tap at the Golden Retriever, Bracknell.] A bright copper coloured pour with a tight white head; weak piney aroma; sweet malty taste with a light bitterness. Lacking any real bite.

Keg at The Gate, Northwood. An amber coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Malty, citrus, caramel aroma and taste. Probably the best beer available in this very old pub.

On tap at the Dublin Airport. Pours a clear amber with a white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has lots of biscuit and sweet grains with a touch of butterscotch underlying. Flavor has lots of biscuit and bread with a touch of butterscotch backing.

Draft at the Blind Piper Pub Served in a mug an amber color with a decent sized bubbly off white head that slowly recedes. Caramel bready butterscotch maltiness with bits of earthy hops and light astringency to counter.
