Not unlike like the Cliff Swallows of Goya heralded 7,500-mile migration to San Juan Capistrano, GoneAway IPA journeys through the seminal relevance of the Pacific Northwest’s piney, dank & bitter resins in its return to our taproom and shop. While there’s comfort in seeing the familiar floating green cacti & yellow lightning bolt, it’s not nostalgia tugging at you, it’s your olfactory memory snapping back to that first swig of West Coast IPA claiming dominance in your relationship with beer. Big smell Chinook & Simcoe bolted to iron-clad bitterness is irreplaceable.

Appearance- golden with a 1-finger white foamy head. Aroma- orange, pineapple, citrus fruit, hops, hint of tropical fruit. Taste- lots of fruity hops, grapefruit, pine, pithy fruit, marmalade, juicy, fluffy malt undertones. Understated bitterness.

Can from Beer Gonzo Webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home Wednesday 28th March 2018. Hazy mid gold with a large foamy white head. Lovely bitterness, juicy but then well balanced bittersweet leading to a dry finish. Plenty of hops, loads, pine resin, but with a big dose of of grapefruit (sweet). This is a marvellous beer. Can. Almost clear gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin malts, lightly sweet. Tangy citrus, little metallic. Mild spice. Little mango. Light tangy finish. If you bought me a pint of this, I would drink it, but for a US IPA, it's curiously unsatisfying.
