Not unlike like the Cliff Swallows of Goya heralded 7,500-mile migration to San Juan Capistrano, GoneAway IPA journeys through the seminal relevance of the Pacific Northwest’s piney, dank & bitter resins in its return to our taproom and shop. While there’s comfort in seeing the familiar floating green cacti & yellow lightning bolt, it’s not nostalgia tugging at you, it’s your olfactory memory snapping back to that first swig of West Coast IPA claiming dominance in your relationship with beer. Big smell Chinook & Simcoe bolted to iron-clad bitterness is irreplaceable.

Can from Cotteridge Wines; clear golden amber pour with a bubbly off white head, aroma has pine and citrus, taste has sweet malt action along with light pine, hint of spice some grapefruit, mellow bitterness.

Lightly hazy, bright, blonde-golden body topped by a small-to-medium-sized white head with modest retention.
Fruity nose shows light earth, dusty, herbal hops with growing lemon zest, mango and light pine. Very, very fruity, quite bright albeit for light pine and grapefruit pith with sparse, crackery malt, but still enough to add some balance. Clean, balanced, aromatic.
In the mouth it's soft, lightly juicy, very fruity (apples, pears, peach, mango, orange, lemon) with a strong dryness although still having enough of a malt backbone to provide good texture. Low but engaging carbonation, clean, low on the resin (though a touch of pine and grapefruit sharpness does emerge) and no alcohol noted.

Can at the Small Bar, Bristol. Golden, clear with little visible carbonation. Lots of sharp tropical fruit of the nose, some dried grass, floral notes and spicy, almost meaty hop. Taste is sweet at first, but follows up with a reasonably bitter finish. Hard citrus peel and a touch of banana in the aftertaste. It's fairly basic for an IPA but very well made.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Medium gold colour, with a soft haze. Thin, fully lacing, lasting, white head. Nose has sweet grain. Pine needle. Some pink grapefruit. Bit of dank juice, which doesn’t mean anything, but it’s smelling pretty good and punchy. Taste is straight up bitter. Grapefruit juice and pithy orange. Touch of peppery spice. Smooth mouthfeel, with an easy drinking character. Soft carbonation. Pithy bitterness to finish. Nice one.

Can from Cork & Cask. Hazy golden body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Steady carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and orange. Flavour of steel and grapefruit. Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Light fizz. Simple and bitter. Decent.

Can from Downtown wine and spirits Hazy light golden color with a decent bubbly white head that slowly dissipates and leaves some stickies on the way down. Lots of citrus pine and resin with bits of mineral water and some faint bready malt. Decent beer, but not smooth in any way light aspirin bitterness.

16 ounce can. Medium gold pour is topped by a large creamy white cap with lustrous lacing. Fragrant, bright citrus bouquet reminiscent of tangerine and peach. Soft fruity, caramel malt palate. Notes of orange, lemon and pineapple. Lots of citrus, lots of juice, lots of flavor. Fine she's with a hint of bitter grapefruit and pine. A well done mid-western IPA.

Tallboy can. Rating 13.3 million x .001! Hazy orange, large foamy white head, decent retention. Aroma of juicy orange, lemon, pale malt. The taste is pale malt, hints of toast, orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, a bit of pine. Medium bodied, super juicy, mild lingering bitterness. Nice!

16 ounce can from Uptown Market. Quite fresh. Pours a very clear orange color with a large white head. A nice fresh citrus nose, some toast and marmalade. The flavor is citrus, lemons, orange peel, resinous, a dank deep hop flavor, some light biscuit almost like pils malt. Quite good. Fresh modern IPA. Lovely.
