The Black Prince was the eldest son of Edward III. He was married to Joan of Kent and is buried in Canterbury Cathedral. This is a full bodied mild, very smooth on the palate with subtle hop notes.

Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 3 - London. Pours rich brown with a frothy beige crown. Light ashy roast pervades this guy, with some burnt leaves and earthy minerals. A little watery, though. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Faint ashes and bitter cocoa in the finish, but mostly it’s watery. But still, nothing offensive here.

Bottle at Chriso. It pours dark brown with a minimal beige head. The nose is toasty, caramel, earthy, dried fruits and eccles cake. The taste is crisp, cocoa, toast, liquorice, tangy, sherbet, cola, caramel and mild sourness with a dry finish Feels a bit tired and tangy. Still not all that bad....
