Buzzard is a traditional dark ale brewed with pale, crystal and chocolate roasted malts and Herefordshire hops. Deep copper red in colour with the roasted chocolate malt giving a dry nutty flavour with hints of amaretto biscuit. The finish in the mouth is a dry smoky smooth finish.

Cask at Ealing. Frothy white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter fnish. Oily palate.

Cask at Ealing beer festival 2013, London. A dark brown/copper coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Malty, nutty aroma. Tastes malty, nutty, caramel, slightly dry.

Dobre i tresciwe piwo z ciemnym rubinowym kolorem, piana gesta trwala i kremowa. Aromak suszonych owocow. Finisz pikantny i wytrawny. Niesamowiecie metne piwo z spora iloscia osadu co jest dosc zadko spotykane w angielskich piwach.

500ml Bottle: shared with my brother-in-law on 9th June 2013. Pours a dark brown colour with an off-white head of uneven foam. Old malts with a chocolate hint in the nose: these carry on into the taste: add some bark and nut traces within the fairly complex flavours and you get an almost interesting brew. Semi-sweet with a mild hop content. Better than OK, but only just, it just lacked something to rise it above the โJoe Averageโ beer list.

50cl bottle, bbe JUN14. Poured dark brown, thin white head. Aroma has some glueish notes, nuts and caramel. Flavor is better, nuts, roasted malt, caramel and hops. Medium bodied. Despite the off notes, quite drinkable

Cask at The Anchor, Birmingham. Poured a dark chestnut brown with a bit frothy tan head. The aroma was weak but with some sour fruity notes. The flavour is surprisingly medium sour with some fruity notes on the palate. Great to taste and somewhat drinkable, but for this to qualify as a session ale, the session would need to be short!

Aroma - dark caramel malts, dark toffee, bit of roast
Taste as aroma, some earthy hops and bit of bitter chocolate
Palate - soft carb, med body. Finish quite dry, soft bitter roast linger then clears...didnโt get the smoke
Overall - More of a strongish bitter than an Old Ale to me.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours clear brown with a small, white head. The nose holds lots of dirt, leather and wet wood. Flavor is kind of nice, light to medium sweet, pretty meaty, with light roast, faint cocoa, more leather and dirt, light leafy bitterness, very faint dry fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish with very subtle smoked malt notes, some light cocoa, definitely some old leather, background toasted sugar, faint dry caramel, just a suggestion of tangy fruits. Actually an intriguing beer from a brewery that tends to keep things somewhere between conservative and mediocre. Definitely a worthwhile beer here. Quite a nice bit of complexity for a low ABV old ale.
