Buzzard is a traditional dark ale brewed with pale, crystal and chocolate roasted malts and Herefordshire hops. Deep copper red in colour with the roasted chocolate malt giving a dry nutty flavour with hints of amaretto biscuit. The finish in the mouth is a dry smoky smooth finish.

Cloudy brown beer. No head. No carbonation. Semi dry palate. Even malt, quite a lot of apple. Fairly dry bitter finish. Flat, green and bitter. Lovely! Waste of a perfectly good glass bottle.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark brown pour with a dissipating white head. Caramel, chocolate and raisin aroma. A little flat. Chocolate and malt flavour. Lightly bitter. Just by the lifeless look of this I didnโt expect too much. Pity Re-rate from May 2016. Reddish brown pour with a beige head. Orchard fruit, caramel and currants in the aroma. More orchard fruit, nuts, some toffee and sultana in the flavour. A lot more life in this one than the pitiful version I had previously. Much better! 7 4 7 4 14

Half pint, cask at De Klomp in Linkรถping. Thin ring of white bubbles atop of a mahogany coloured body with ruby-red highlights. Plain chocolate malts to the nose. Chocolate, nutty malts with a slight roastiness in flavour offset by a mild and clean bitter finish. Smooth and dry palate. Fine drinkability. Evening session at the pub, 14.09.2010.

Bottle 500ml. [ As Cotleigh Buzzard ]. Light unclear medium to dark brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, nutty notes, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090808]

Pours dark copper brown with a small, creamy head. Watery chocolate toffee aroma. Caramel and malt flavour with notes of wood and cork. Grassy and bitter finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a hazy orangey brown with a beige head. Nutty, rustic aroma. Medium body, nuts and burned caramel on a slightly woody background. A little chocolate and roast. dry and slightly hoppy finish. A nice one. 121109

Bottled. A dark red beer with a tan head. The aroma has strong notes of spices and caramel as well as malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, fruit, and malt as well as lighter notes of spices and yeast. The mouthfeel is very dry.
