Ein Pils sollte immer Eleganz und Feinheit ausstrahlen. Daher demonstriert das Pilsner auch bereits durch seine sortentypische helle, stroh-gelbe Farbe seine Sonderstellung unter den Bieren. Die schöne Schaumkrone transportiert die flüchtigen Aromen von grünen Kräutern und frisch geschnittenem Gras an die Nase. Im Trunk entwickelt sich ein Band aus eleganter Bittere und einem ausdruckstarken Malzkörper, das sich durch die erfrischende Rezenz zunächst spannt, um sich dann im trockenen, milden Finale wieder zu entspannen.

50cl bottle from AbeerVinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours slightly orange gold, transparent, with scarce foam. Aroma is cereal and bready. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is medium bitter, with a little cereal sweetness. Final is average.

Keg at Llandoger Trow, Bristol. Pours clear pale yellow with a white cap. Aroma: light grassy, straw, lemon, herbal hints. Taste: light sweet & bitter, dry, subtle citrus lemon, straw, grass. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation.

Draft at the Freemasons Arms, Market Harborough. Golden, clear with a small frothy white head. Grainy, papery smell, lots of hay, dried flowers, a little bit of gooseberry. Straightforward sweetness with a backbone of hoppy bitterness increasing to the finish. Very nicely carbonated. Decent pils overall.

Draft @ Mother Kelly’s Tap Room (E2), Bethnal Green, E2. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty bready grainy grassy aroma. Fruity malty grainy bready flavor. Has a fruity malty grainy bready weak grassy finish.

Flasche (Oechsner Pilsener, 50 cl) aus einer Hotel-Minibar in Marktbreit. - Helles Goldgelb, blank. - In der Nase herb grasiger Hopfen, Anklänge an Chlor. - Antrunk schlank und schmalspurig zitronenschalig-herb. Milde, aber etwas matte Malzsüße. Durchschnittlich rezent, dünner Körper. Im Abgang wenig aromatische, leere Bittere. Schroffer, dumpfer Nachhall. - Mittelmäßiges Pilsener, dem man den Hopfenextrakt anmerkt.

Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Light haze on this pale gold beer, decent white head. Palate is smooth with very fine carbonation. Pale malts bring a touch of paper and clear cornflakes streak. Light floralness. Super mild citrus. Semi dry crisp finish. Unclean!

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig hopfig, grasig. Geschmack hopfig bitter, getreidig, grasig.
