Lovingly referred to by Fremonters as the B-BOMB, this bourbon barrel-aged edition of our winter ale has a warming spicy aroma and rich carmelly notes of bourbon, wood and vanilla added to dark roasty chocolatey malt flavors and subtle hopping.

Dark brown pour with a tall, fine-grained tan head with good retention. Notes of cinnamon, bourbon, espresso, instant coffee, roasted malt, toffee, vanilla, oak. Really nice, among my favourite BA Fremont beers, for sure.

Ten mi chyba bardziej mimo, ze troche w starym stylu. Cynamon i kawa nieprzegiete, bardziej w smaku zreszta, beczka nienarzucajaca sie, troche palone... generalnie niby nic ale fajnie mi lezy :)

2018 Bottle shared by Erik. Brown with beige head. Brutal, bitter coffee, hints of green pepper. Harsh, ashy roast and some dark chocolate. No balance at all. Drain pour.

Bottled. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted mlat, dark chocolate, caramel, and coffee. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, alcohol, caramel, cinnamon, and coffee, leading to a dry finish.

Tap at Churchkey, DC. Color is dark brown with small brownish head. Aromas and flavours: Coffee, some cinnamon, chocolate and roasted malts. Soft and creamy but maybe too easy.

This works way better than I was expecting. Heavy coffee combines very well with the cinnamon. Both have bitterness, but in different way. Some sweetness, but nothing major. Bourbon adds a bit of flavour, and some smoothness. Nice!

Refrigerated 2017 brown bomber poured into a snifter. Black with medium beige head. Aroma is cinnamon, medium/thick body, medium carbonation, and thick small-bubble lacing. Taste is cinnamon, coffee, wood, and some bourbon. Much better than the regular for me.

Got this in a trade with Jay Whitson. Thanks Jay!! 2018 edition, waxed and capped.

Pours as pretty as a barrel aged Stout can get. Pitch black, 2 fingers of tan foam, superb lacing and head retention.

Smells of Bourbon, winter spicing..cinnamon and nutmeg, roasty, chocolate of the sweet kind, little bit of coffee, very boozy.

Lots of lovely cinnamon up front, a mix of both dark and milk chocolate, Bourbon, light coffee, good roasty character, alcohol ever present and some would probably say..too much!
Well, 14%abv IS 14%abv...

Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. I get quite a bit of bitter chocolate in the finish.

The best way that I can describe this beer overall is, luxurious. A must try in my book.

Bottle: Poured a very dark brown color ale with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt with some chocolate, cinnamon and bourbon notes is quite enticing. Taste is a rich and complex mix of bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon with some floral coffee and light woody notes with some residual sugar notes also perceptible. Body is full with good carbonation and light warming notes. Exceptional beer.
