We have traversed the globe to Mexico where we celebrate Brett’s love of South American food and the citrus zing of the mighty lime.

Clean and crisp with refreshing tangy limes and a moreish briny finish, this is our perfect summer beer. It originally took inspiration from Sleeping Lemons and the beautiful preserved lemons we use, but the idea developed into a cleaner beer, taking the Corona and lime wedge and stepping it up a notch.

Brewing a beer around the taste of lime naturally led us to using this beautiful citrus fruit, utilising both the fresh pulp and the zest. A clean and crisp base was achieved by using a lager yeast with the lime building an addictive tang to the pallet and a gose inspired flurry of salt adding to the finish. What is it? A lager, a gose, a sour... Who cares. Put simply it is one of the finest accompaniments for the British summertime.

Draught at the Beer Market, Dublin. Limey aroma. Hazy pale golden colour. Stable white head. The flavour has lime. Good mouthfeel. Slight saltiness. Not much more to say. Well-made but not for me.

Can from Brewcraft at home. Clear light golden straw yellow pour with thin fine white bubbles. Aroma is fresh salty like - not unlike the Young Master Cha Chaan Teng gose, but less malty. Taste is light, sour, salty, very refreshing. Again similar to the YM gose, but more mellowed out for beach drinking. The Corona and lime reference in description makes sense - like a saltier, hoppier version. Smooth light palate. Would definitely get again for summer drinking.

On keg at Six Degrees North, Edinburgh. Appearance - hazy golden. Decent lacing. Nose - floral with ripe citrus. Taste - more of the same really. Lime not as tangy as expected. Palate - light bodied, light sourness through middle and finish. Overall - good but not as sour as I'd hoped.

Bottled 330ml. -from Pivny Raj Bratislava. Pale yellow coloured, medium sized airy white head, dusty lime nose. Soft lime, bready, slightly citrusy and salty with short dryish finish. Not the best I've tried.

Salt and limes. Clear gold with a rich white head. Lime and light brine, but also has a grainy note that isn’t cohesive.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A straw coloured pour with a loose white head; aroma of lime juice and brine; quite tart and refreshing in the mouth with some salt on the finish, but lacking any sign of beer.

Keg at Wild Beer Jessop House. Unclear golden with almost no head. Aroma of lime juice, zesty citrus. Taste is the same, zesty lime, salt is pretty subtle, very refreshing prefer this to the lemon one. Light body, soft carbonation.
