We have traversed the globe to Mexico where we celebrate Brett’s love of South American food and the citrus zing of the mighty lime.
Clean and crisp with refreshing tangy limes and a moreish briny finish, this is our perfect summer beer. It originally took inspiration from Sleeping Lemons and the beautiful preserved lemons we use, but the idea developed into a cleaner beer, taking the Corona and lime wedge and stepping it up a notch.
Brewing a beer around the taste of lime naturally led us to using this beautiful citrus fruit, utilising both the fresh pulp and the zest. A clean and crisp base was achieved by using a lager yeast with the lime building an addictive tang to the pallet and a gose inspired flurry of salt adding to the finish. What is it? A lager, a gose, a sour... Who cares. Put simply it is one of the finest accompaniments for the British summertime.

330ml can. Pale yellow gold colour, thin white foam head leaing some lacing and aroma of grain, lemon rind, lime. Taste is pale malt, grain, hay with sourish lemon & lime, and salty notes. Light bodied, soft carbonation, sour salty finish. Quite OK

(Keg at Maltainen Riekko, 20190628) The beer poured pale golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had lemonade and lightly tartness. Palate was rather light bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were saltiness, lemonade and light bitterness. Aftertaste was salty and bitterness. A weak brew with gimmicks.

Tap at Frisches Bier. Pale yellow, low head. Dry light salty limes, light grainy, a hint oxidized, moppy. Not super exciting.

Can from Beer52. I liked their Sleeping Lemons, so I was looking forward to this. It pours deep gold with an obvious fizz and a thin white head. Looks like a lager. The whiff and initial flavour does (in line with the description) taste of Corona with a wedge of lime it even has that unpleasant sweetcorn tinge. It does improve, with lime cordial, white bread, a light sourness, some spice and a mildly dry and lightly salted finish. However, it doesn't improve quite enough to make up for the cheap lager taste, which returns at the start of each sip. Disappointing compared to the original lemon version.

Thin off white head soon left a collar on a finely carbonated light straw coloured body. Lime, cordial & yeast aroma. Medium bodied, tingly on the palate with a clean dry back. Chalky tasting with lime, citrus, yeast & lemon tastes with limp finish.
