500ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby shimmer and average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Sweet-ish, slightly nutty, dark and caramel malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, some chocolate, a touch of nougat and toffee. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty and roasty, minimally nutty, dark malty, notes of malt lozenge, some caramel, chocolate, a touch of cola, very weak fruity allusions to cherry and plum, mildly bitter, hoppy overtones.
Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium, dense, prickly carbonation.
Fairly balanced, relatively multifacetted composition - very nice.

Brown with a foamy, off-white head. Aroma promises toffee and hazelnut butter. Taste is mildly sweet most of the way through. The faint toasted bitterness at the finish is easily missed. Body to the light side of medium, mild carbonation, a touch watery. Easygoing. Decent, if unremarkable.

Bottle from Orterer, drunk after preparing for a family Halloween wedding party tomorrow where I shall be the inimitable Jose Cuervo. Filtered medium brown, small head. Sweet caramel/malt nose, earthy. Flavor is rather sweet like kandi sugar, slight roast notes, moderate complexity, low on bitterness for this much cara content. Pretty good but a bit too sweet if I'm being honest.

On tap at the Kloster Brauerei Reutberger Tap Sunday 25th July after a short 11-12km cycle ride from Holzkirchen. Pours reddy brown with a large white head. Caramel but quite bitter, hoppiness provides much of this I suspect but also roastiness, nice soft moutheel a good example of the style.

Huge thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark brown, small head. Fine malty aroma. Starts intense malty, roasty, some earthy hints as well, light smokey touch. Also some herbal notes. Finish well balanced, dry-malty, wonderful roasty-dry. Well balanced. Really nice!

Reutberger Export dunkel, Flasche von Hopfen & Malz im Wedding. - Tiefes Kupferrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase trocken-herbes dunkles Malz, Brotkruste, hintergründige hopfenwürzige Herbe. - Antrunk tief dunkelmalzig mit dunkler, fast röstiger Brotkruste, Bayrisch Blockmalz, gebranntem Zucker, Moos und interessanten obgleich nicht allzu kräftigen herbalen Noten (mediterrane Kräuter). Wenig süß. Milder rezent, nur annähernd vollmundig. Im Abgang milde aber ausdrucksstarke herbale Herbe. - Originelles, interessant gehopftes Dunkles, eine echte Entdeckung! (31.1.2020.)
