Es war Simon Wittmann, der Gründer der Privatbrauerei Nordbräu, der das Rezept für diese Weizenspezialität kreierte. Jahrelang blieb es in den Archiven nahezu unentdeckt bis zum Jubiläumsjahr 1993. Zum 300-jährigen Jubiläum wurde das alte Rezept wiederbelebt und damit das allseits beliebte ´93er Hefeweizen kreiert. Seine Trübung und sein feiner Hefe-Geschmack zeichnen den Charakter dieser besonderen Spezialität aus, die schon im Jubiläumsjahr für Furore sorgte. Grund genug, das Hefeweizen, das von unseren Kunden kurz nur ´93er genannt wird, dauerhaft ins Sortiment aufzunehmen. So genießen Sie mit diesem Hefeweizen in Exportqualität noch heute ein Stück Brauereigeschichte.

Aroma is cheesecake banana yeast flowers. Taste is full bodied wheat with some sour yeast and a bit sweet fruit. Spiky and light on the tongue. Drinkable and not too green. I like it.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. An unclear golden-orange beer with a dense, off-white head. Mostly banana on the nose, some cloves and wheat. Sweet, banana flavor, a bit sweet actually, cloves and wheat in the back. Some bitterness too, especially in the end. Effervescent, yet a bit dead in the mouth. Lasting finish with banana and some lemony wheaty notes. Not bad at all, but it lacks quite a bit even though. 110128

Aroma is light malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, yeast, banana and clove notes, rubber notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average to long duration, yeasty, fruity.
