Tasting at Papsø
Amber color, no head. Caramel aroma and caramel flavor, quite sweet, with no real bitterness, just some from the caramel. Very simple example.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear dark amber with an off-white head. Sweet malt and caramel in the nose. Very solid body, loads of caramel with an almost boozy finish with only sufficient hops for balance. 090410

Bottle: Clear, amber coloured, big beaten-egg-white-like off-white head; light alcoholic traces in the sweet caramelly nose, dark fruits in the background; solid sweet flavour, medium to full, sticky; light alkoholic-fruity and dark-malty finish with a delicate bitterness in the aftertaste. Not bad, but way too sweet......

(bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a big and bright-beige foamy head. Sweet and molassy toast-malty aroma with caramel and a tinge of alcohol. Sweet flavour with a whiff of toasty bitterness, full bodied with an oily mouthfeel. Thick toast-malty taste with notes of caramel, a subtle touch of dried fruits and molasses; sweet and minimal toasty bitter finish with an alcohol well-covered. All in all drinkable but nevertheless a tad too sweet for my liking. 17.III.10

Bottle 0,5l 20 Jun 07. Dark brown coloured. A large, soapy head. Sweet, soft malty flavor. A lasting caramellish aftertaste. A very good beer, but did not quite fit in the warm (>30 deg. C) summer evening.

500ml bottle. This is a x-mas beer which our hosts had bought for us knowing about our visit this summer. Enjoyed in a great friendly atmoshere at a garden party in Ingolstadt. Slightly off-white foam over a dark brown body. The alcohol strength is present in both aroma and flavour. Otherwise malty to the nose. Plenty of dark fruits in flavour - almost like drinking jam. Full palate. Yeah, I really could have this brew on a dark x-mas eve (20.06.2007).

Minimal kratzig. Test vom 29.6.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,10,12,11,10,11 - 10,75
