What started out as a little bit of fun quickly became the favourite of many die hard ale fans and has become permanent. Probably best described stylistically as a Californian IPA, this beer has all the rich malt and fruit flavours of a Barley Wine combined with the hoppy crispness of a Pale Ale. And as best said by one of its biggest fans, "Hoppiness = Happiness."

[5/16/16] Draught at Taphouse in Copenhagen. Golden. Pleasant aroma of fruity hops, citric, with a bit of graininess. Flavor has a bit of graininess, and nice bitter fruity hops. Light to medium-bodied. Good.

Cloudy amber color. Big thick white head. Hugely hoppy nose. Dry hopped to the tits. Amazing astringent, hoppy dry mouth, that for four months old. East coast ipa and just nails it out of the park. Amazing

Can from Thirsty, Cambridge. Drunk at home. Golden and ever so slightly hazy, with a lovely crown of white head. Pine, pine and more pine in the aroma. Gummy, resinous, and enticing. Hints of lemon and pineapple. Bitter hop bomb. The taste is unrelentingly bitter while remaining pleasant and refreshing. Long resinous aftertaste. Body is slightly watery but other than that this is top notch. A wonderful IPA worth seeking out.

Can purchased at Les Vignerons in Rome-Italy. Pours clear gold, pretty bright with white persistent foam. Nose: garlic, bit citric, perfume of fresh hops. Fantastic! Mouth: medium carbonation, more garlic, sweet malty feel, orange, super dry clean finish. Lovely!

Intensiv hopfiger, etwas trocken bitterer Antrunk. Noten von Zitrone, süffig, sehr weich. Dabei konstant hopfig bleibend, Nuancen von Alkohol, blumig. Durch die Trockenheit süffig und ohne jede Süße. 10/12/11/11/10/11

330ml can from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham. Slightly hazy golden colour with a smooth creamy white head. Aroma is citrussy orange/tangerine, grapefruit, and the taste is pretty much the same. Bitter hoppy finish. Smooth with soft carbonation. Very nice.

Bottle, 650 ml, shared with JFK10000 who brought it from Bologna. Pours golden, nice big white head. Great lacing. Great fruity, citrus hoppy aroma. Tropical fruit, some pine, medium sweetness. Moderate bitterness, medium bodied. Dry finish. Balanced and overall really good west coast IPA. Only downside is the price, charging 13 euros is outrageous even if it’s this good.
