What started out as a little bit of fun quickly became the favourite of many die hard ale fans and has become permanent. Probably best described stylistically as a Californian IPA, this beer has all the rich malt and fruit flavours of a Barley Wine combined with the hoppy crispness of a Pale Ale. And as best said by one of its biggest fans, "Hoppiness = Happiness."

Tap at Salon piva. Slightly alcoholey, but otherwise fine, mostly hoppy and bitter, grassy herbal hoppiness, slightly spicy. Too warming for me.

Can at home. Pours a hazy dark orange with an off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, grass, bubble gum, ammonia and orange peel. Flavour of pine, grapefruit, pepper and some apricot. A little dry in the end. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a medium bitterness. A solid IPA with a little fruity touch. Well-balanced.

Tap @ Queens Head, medium sample. Clear golden to orange color, short frothy head. Great aroma of grapefruit and cookie malt. Medium bitterness in taste, cookie sweetness. Wonderful to start my small London trip.

Gylden brun lett tåkete med lavt hvitt skum. Luktet sitrus, grape, sitron og noe kornete. Middels fylde. Fruktig sitrusig start, middels bitterhet kommer utover og sitter godt.

0,33l can from alesbymail rated a couple days ago. BB date is a bit unreadable, I think it says Nov 2017. amber hazy color, rather big white head. smells of grapefruit, spices, peppery, herbal, lemon grass, ok smell, but not overwhelming. full body, soft but light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of pines, exotic fruits, lightly citric, passion fruit, mango, spices, rather malty, light resin. finishes quite balanced with very light bitterness, and notes of pines, mango and light citric notes. good one, but was expecting a bit more, a bit malt heavy, and not as crisp and refreshing as i was expecting. lovely fruit notes though. overall still nice beer though. note: 2nd pour from the can was quite a bit more hoppy but rather one-dimensional herbal hoppy, so rating doesnt change.

0.33l can. Smells a lot just popping the can. It's really hoppy and piney fruity in the room. On the pour it's kinda blurry, golden orange in color and on the top there's a nice medium sized quite side clinging white head. Piney and zesty with clementine and blood oranges on the nose. Quite fresh and nice aroma. It tastes a little older than it smells unfortunately. A bit closed in flavors. Not directly metallic, more hop pungent. It has a nice oily texture in the mouth and it's just above average on the relatively large bubbled carbonation. Grassy and bitter, a little birch, sap. Wish I could have tried this a little fresher. Can see from the cap that the can was made in December.. 23.07.2016
